Description
With oncology being a fast-developing sector of growth in the pharmaceutical industry, Semantic Hub© offers a series of interactive web reports addressing unmet needs and treatment experience of patients with breast cancer and their caregivers. Each report embraces Patient Voice in one country taking into account its cultural background and specific features of its healthcare system. All data are retrieved in a compliant mode from open online sources with the use of innovative artificial intelligence tools owned by Semantic Hub. As Patient Voice increasingly becomes an inherent part of the decision-making process in the pharmaceutical industry and the driver of innovation and co-creation, this report allows sneaking a peek behind the scenes and having a closer look at the statistical data and infographics based on real patients’ and caregivers’ stories. The report is interactive and allows users to navigate through its chapters as well as open citations examples and use infographics.

This report contains no personal data or patients’ and caregivers’ profiles which have not been collected in the course of the study. All data are anonymised in accordance with applicable legislation. Selected citations have been modified to secure privacy of their authors while preserving the original meaning of their messages. Names appearing in the messages and/or geographies that allowing to trace a patient have been blinded.

Pharmacovigilance: in these reports, we do not analyse treatment experience with respect to separate drugs. Our common practice is to report all adverse events in accordance with customers' policies. However, these reports do not cover the detailed analysis of treatment options, so such reporting is not relevant. All treatment names are blinded.

Report
Key issues
Each report contains the detailed analysis of various metrics related to patient journey, diagnostics and treatment experience in the given country including the data on breast cancer stages and molecular subtypes profile. Chapters dedicated to the discussion of medical and non-medical issues by patients and caregivers (e.g. chemotherapy, breast reconstruction, body weight, insurance coverage) spotlight their main points of concern as well as topics that seem to be of less importance. Each report also highlights unmet informational needs of patients and caregivers relevant to those who are willing to tailor-make local awareness campaigns or navigation strategies. Special focus is made on discussions around COVID-19 and its impact on breast cancer patients and their patient / treatment journey.

Semantic Hub
Methodology

Hybrid Intelligence: AI + human experts
Semantic Hub carries out Internet screening to detect patient stories (first-hand testimonies of patients and their caregivers) related to conditions or symptoms of interest. Such stories are organised in an anonymised database for further detailed analysis

AI-Platform: The collected messages are processed using deep semantic analysis and transformed into structured “knowledge graphs”. Meaningful information (symptoms, treatment names, symptom journey, treatment experience, etc.) is extracted

Hybrid Intelligence: AI + human experts
The extracted graphs are merged into a knowledge base, then traditional tools of biostatistics and visualization are applied to such data to build infographics, extract actionable insights, detect cases of interest, and make conclusions / recommendations
